In my non-running life, I am a History Professor and Department Chair at a regional university in Alabama, Jacksonville State University. From 2008 to 2021, I served as Department Chair, which means I have pushed more paper than gave lectures. My job is at once rewarding, stressful, maddening, and fulfilling.
